It is well known that glucocorticoid (GC)-induced apoptosis in thymocytes is triggered via glucocorticoid receptor activation. Nevertheless, the mechanism of paradoxical promoting effect of glucocorticoids on thymocytes survival and GC -suppression of age-associated thymic involution [1] is poorly understood.
